The Cup fellas just got done with practice and qualifying, and thankfully our two targets didn't set the world on fire in the session. We did not get priced out of these two props, so let's take advantage.

Bank of America Roval 400 Predictions

If you don't immediately think of these two guys when you see a road course on the schedule, then you think just like the bookmakers. There's nothing wrong with that...they have large buildings in the desert with bright lights. But nobody cries for them when they lose, either. We're here to tell you, you have got to bet on these fellas to have a strong showing on Sunday afternoon.

Michael McDowell is ranked second in our 2022 road course power rating dataset. His 7.6 average finish is ranked right behind Chase Elliott (6.8). He's registered finishes of 13/3/8/8/6 so far this year. He's third in average running position (10.0) while ranking 10th in average laps led (2.8/per) and 12th in average fast laps (1.6/per).

Christopher Buescher is fifth in the dataset. He's fourth in average finishing position bagging up results of 21/2/6/10/9. He has the fourth most average fast laps (5.6/per race). Buescher ranks seventh in road course driver rating and is ninth in overall average running position (14.2).

These two guys have been hugely impressive in the new-generation car on-road courses. We were promised that the new design would allow for more parity and that has lived up to the billing...driver safety, not so much. They are combined eight for ten in top-10 finishes this year, making the even-money price tag much more attractive.

Might as well grab a little ladder action while we're here.

Bank of America Roval 400 Picks

All Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing

1.0u to win 1.0u - Christopher Buescher to Finish inside the Top-10 (+100) (Bet $100 to win $100)

1.1u to win 1.0u - Michael McDowell to Finish inside the Top-10 (-110) (Bet $110 to win $100)

These two guys will not be running for stage points in this playoff cut-off race. We've already seen Buescher employ differing strategy from playoff drivers in these playoffs, and we would not be surprised to see them running up front when Stage 3 starts. You might want to even sprinkle the outright winner markets where McDowell is +2500 market-wide, and there is a rogue Buescher +3300 hanging at MGM. They must not be afraid of Buescher, but they should be!

Bank of America Roval 400 Picks
