Army and Navy will meet up for the 117th time on Saturday at MetLife Stadium. This tradition started way back in 1890 between Army and Navy and has since given us many memorable moments. This season, Army comes in as the heavy seven and a half point favorite.

Army had a great season, playing to an 8-3 record and landing themselves a bowl game in the Armed Forces Bowl against SEC opponent Missouri. Navy did not have their best season and ended the season ineligible for a bowl, so this will be their last crack at the 2021 season.

This is a game I'm stoked to write about because there is so much tradition in this football game. This will be a great battle on the field, but this game's meaning goes far beyond football. The men playing in this game go on to serve our county after this game and show us what true courage is like. The tradition of this game hits home for many, including myself, who have friends currently serving in the military, along with many family members, including my grandfather, who have made the great sacrifice of serving for the United States.

The current series between Army and Navy sits at 61-53-7, favoring the Naval Academy. However, the current streak is sitting with Army, who won last season and will come into this one as the heavy favorite. Navy looks to get back into the win column and flip the script on the series back in their favor.

The play I have taken the last few seasons was the under; who doesn't love an Army-Navy under? This season, the play I am going with will be backing the heavy dog in the Naval Academy. In games like this, I throw talent out the window, and I look at the factors of this game. Navy has seniors all over their roster. This will be the last time they ever strap on their helmets and put on their shoulder pads. The meaning of this game to these schools is equivalent to the Super Bowl, and the energy will be high from both sides.

Navy did not have their best season, but they are still a solid team. They've shown that multiple times so far, including playing the Cinncanti Bearcats tough, losing to the playoff team by just seven points. Navy will stick with their gritty style of play in this game, and we know possessions in this football game will be limited due to the pace of play for each of these teams.

The pace makes me like the dog because there will not be too many possessions to score the football. This game will be won by who controls the tempo and who can force more turnovers. I think Navy has an excellent shot to force a couple of turnovers and actually win this thing outright and shock Army.
