David Benavidez vs. Caleb Plant Prediction
Caleb is coming into this contest 22 emphatic victories deep, with his sole loss coming to the great Canelo Alvarez way back in November of 2021. Literally and metaphysically perfect inside of the squared circle, David Benavidez looks to ride the momentum of the unbeaten against arguably the biggest test of his career in the form of Mr. Plant.Â
On the flip side of the coin, Caleb is doing his best to redesign, rebuild, and reclaim, bouncing back into the win column following a knockout-of-the-year contender over Anthony Dirrell his last time out.
I think the name of the game is fairly simple here. Either Plant potshots his way to a majority decision victory on the scorecards, or David Benavidez unleashes a barrage of shots that crumbles and demoralizes on route to a late fight finish as the rounds progress.
Binary observations aside, I doubt David will get schooled by Plant in this spot, as the former title holder does not have to bombastic pop in his punches to command the utmost respect from the Mexican.Â
Because of the high level that these two gentlemen currently embody, combined with the possibility of a draw or some other sort of wonky scorecard being live as all heck, I am going to instead bet on the alternate over 7.5 rounds to take myself out of the equation as well as to circumvent being at the mercy of the judges. Yes, the value might not seem as bountiful, but make no question that the wager should be sweat-free.
