NBA Playoff Parlay: Can Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Donovan Mitchell Deliver in Tuesday's Game 1 Matchups?
There are two NBA Playoff games on today's slate. We have the Boston Celtics hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 and the Oklahoma City Thunder hosting the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1. I like three different players in these games to grab rebounds in their given matchups.
Tuesday NBA Playoff Parlay Picks
The first one I am taking is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for 6+ rebounds. Oklahoma City are likely to put Lu Dort on Luka Doncic and Jalen Williams on Kyrie Irving which leaves Shai guarding lower usage players PJ Washington/Derrick Jones Jr.. With Luka and Kyrie taking so many shots we should see Shai in great positions for rebounds. He had nine and 13 rebound chances in the last two matchups against Dallas (where he saw normal minutes). In those games he had six rebounds on nine chances and nine rebounds on 13 chances. Expect 9+ rebound chances again. He's had 6+ rebounds in 77% of games this season (83% at home) with 9+ rebound chances.
The second leg I like is PJ Washington 5+ rebounds. PJ has recorded 5+ rebounds in five of six playoff games already this playoffs and gets a great matchup against Oklahoma City who have not been a great rebounding team on the season. Chet Holmgren likes to stretch the floor which will pull Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford out to the perimeter at times which should create more rebound chances for Washington. PJ has 5+ rebounds in both games against Oklahoma this season and in ten of ten career games against them.
The final leg of the parlay is Donovan Mitchell 4+ rebounds. I like this leg for a few different reasons. The Celtics take the most three-point attempts in the NBA which is great for rebounding guards like Mitchell. He had eight, six, and 11 rebounds in his last three games against Boston and has hit 4+ rebounds in his last seven matchups with them. He has hit this number in five of the last six playoff games last series and if Jarrett Allen remains out for this game, he should have an even better chance of grabbing the rebound.
