Welcome to the daily hit parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. We've been on FIRE, to say the least. We've hit five of our last six parlays of the day...if you stretch it out even further, we've hit ten of our last 13. Let's stay dialed in on a short slate.
THURSDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: JOSE ALTUVE (HOU) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of the hit parlay: Jose Altuve. Altuve and the Astros face off against the Athletics today. Altuve has been hitting great against righties and at home this season. Today, his matchup includes both.
At home, Altuve is hitting a ridiculous .355 this season. He faces the righty Joey Estes and against righties, Altuve is hitting .325 this season. Batting leadoff in front of Alvarez and Tucker, Altuve will see plenty of pitches to hit. With a hit in six out of his last seven games, we have to trust our short king today. He's been an ally to the hit parlays this season, no reason to go away from him today on a short slate.
LEG 2: MOOKIE BETTS (LAD) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of the hit parlay: Mookie Betts. Mookie and the Dodgers begin a series at home against the Reds today. Mookie is on an absolute tear right now and we have to back him for this parlay.
Betts has 2+ hits in four straight games. His season average is up to .348. Today, we only need one hit and it could easily come against the Reds bullpen arms. The Reds are only 18th in bullpen ERA and Mookie is 2-3 against the (likely) opener, Brent Suter. Like Altuve, Mookie is batting leadoff today in front of Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman and that creates a lot of great opportunities for hits. Get it done for us Mookie!
On a short slate, we trust two short kings. Simple as that.
