Atlanta Braves vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction: Can Chris Sale, Braves Get It Done?
Today the Atlanta Braves play another series game in Seattle against the Mariners. The Braves are a very solid team that has been struggling to hit the ball lately, and I see that changing today. I will be taking the Braves to cover the spread for plus money and I will explain why down below.

Atlanta Braves vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction
The Braves have the second best batting average in the league flat out at .269, and for this reason they are almost split-proof. They are first against righties (.273), second as the away team (.276), and third in day games (.276). We can expect that as long as they have a good matchup they will be able to produce.
Then you have the Mariners, who are in arguably the worst possible circumstance split-wise. They are last in the league in both home (.198) and day game (.176) batting average while 27th against lefties (.202). Emerson Hancock is bit of a false hope at first glance. He has a decent record at 3-2 but an ERA over 5. Neither of those numbers mean too much so we can look into the advanced stats for him. While not horrible, they are not great. He is on the wrong side of the league average in every category that I feel is relevant here except walk rate, he is actually quite good in that area. He is most notably bad though in his ground ball rate, his strikeout rate, and his homerun rate is very bad.
It's 50% higher than the league average. I don't think Emerson will be able to handle a high powered offense like the Atlanta Braves. Chris Sale's advanced stats are also quite good. He has actually at his career best in hard hit percentage, line drive percentage, and ground ball percentage. Will that necessarily stay the same over the course of this season? Only time will tell but a five game sample size is a lot to maintain those numbers for. While his strikeout rate is not what it once was, as outlined earlier, he can still hang with the best in the league.
