MLB Hit Parlay: Targeting Ronald Acuna Jr., Trea Turner on Friday Night?

I am going to start a daily article where I choose two to three players to simply record a hit on the day and parlay them together at a reasonable price. Today we have a -148 hit parlay with two superstars in play. Let's break it down.

MLB Hit Parlay

Leg 1: RONALD ACUNA JR TO RECORD A HIT

Ronald Acuna Jr. is one of the best players in baseball and is the reigning NL MVP. He had a phenomenal season in 2023 where he drastically cut down on his strikeout rate and started to really utilize his speed on the base paths with the new pickoff rules. Acuna could hit anywhere in the lineup from first to fourth because of his power and speed but he is firmly cemented in the leadoff position in this very potent Braves lineup.

Since Acuna hits leadoff, he is pretty much guaranteed four at bats and likely will get at least five at bats against a Diamondbacks pitching staff that has been middle of the pack to this point. Starting tonight will be left hander Tommy Henry who is an average to below average pitcher who struggled against right handed hitters last season.

Henry also struggled in his first start of this season against the Rockies as he allowed six hits and five earned runs across just four innings. Acuna is also coming off an 0-3 performance against the White Sox on Tuesday in less than stellar conditions and I expect him to have a solid bounce back game in the Braves home opener where there should be much better weather conditions to hit in.

Leg 2: TREA TURNER TO RECORD A HIT

Trea Turner got off to a slow start in 2023 in his first year in a Phillies uniform but boy did he finish strong as he actually set career highs in power numbers as he ended up belting 26 homers which was five more than he had ever totaled. Turner is one of the fastest players in the league and frequently showcases his speed by beating out ground balls and turning singles into doubles.

Turner has gotten off to a slow start this season as he is just 5-23 (.217) but now gets a favorable matchup against Patrick Corbin in a ballpark that he is very familiar with as he spent the first seven years of his career with the Nationals. Patrick Corbin has struggled mightily the last few seasons with the Cats after signing a very lucrative contract. He has been one of the bottom qualified starters in baseball in ERA and losses as he just has not had the type of swing and miss stuff that he once had early in his career.

Turner is also coming off an 0-4 game against Cincinnati on Wednesday and I expect a much better performance out of Turner after a day off and now facing a below average pitcher in a familiar environment. Turner has started this season hitting second in the Phillies lineup so much like Acuna, Turner should see at least four and likely five at bats as the visiting team in DC tonight which should be ample opportunity to notch a hit against Corbin and the Nationals staff.
