Wimbledon Odds: Novak Djokovic Given 55.6% Chance to Win Wimbledon

2021 has been the year of Novak Djokovic in the tennis world. First, he won his ninth Australian Open in February of this year, defeating Daniil Mdevedev in straight sets in a match he dominated form start to finish.

Then, earlier this month, Djokovic battled back from an early 2-0 hole in the French Open Final against Stefanos Tsitsipas to win just his second ever French Open.

Now, Djokovic heads to Wimbledon, his second most successful Grand Slam, to try and make it a perfect 3-for-3 in 2021.

Usually, there would be some sort of doubt that Djokovic would be able to win the first three Grand Slams of the season, but the 2021 Wimbledon odds are so far in his favour that he’s actually odds-on to win the event.

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are on the back-nine of their careers. They’re still capable of great moment, but they aren’t as consistently great as they’ve been throughout their careers.

Now, it’s Novak Djokovic standing alone atop the men’s tennis world, and the 2021 Wimbledon odds are evidence of just that.

Wimbledon Odds

If Novak Djokovic was going to fall short of the perfect 4-for-4 Grand Slam performance this year, it was likely to come at the French Open. Djokovic had only won one French Open prior to this year and Rafael Nadal has dominated the tournament for over a decade.

But, Djokovic beat Nadal in the semifinals and won his second ever French Open. Now, he’s looking to make it three Grand Slams in 2021 and his Wimbledon odds are telling us it’s all but a sure thing he’ll succeed.

Currently, just a day before Wimbledon gets underway, Novak Djokovic’s Wimbledon odds sit at -125 for him to win the tournament. That means oddsmakers are implying a 55.6% chance he wins Wimbledon this year.

Rafael Nadal has pulled out of this year’s Wimbledon, so the 2021 Wimbledon odds are even more lopsided than you may have expected to see.

The second favorite to win, according to the latest Wimbledon odds, is Daniil Medvedev at +800. His implied probability of winning Wimbledon this year is 11.1%, about 1/5 of Djokovic’s.

Meanwhile, Federer has some really good value with +1300 Wimbledon odds for 2021.

Wimbledon Betting

Unsurprisingly, Novak Djokovic, on the back of his insanely short Wimbledon odds, is the betting favorite for the 2021 Wimbledon, and by a fairly sizeable margin.

Since the end of the 2021 French Open, Novak Djokovic has absolutely dominated Wimbledon betting, as 25.94% of all Wimbledon futures bets have come in on Djokovic to win his sixth Wimbledon title.

While Medvedev is the second fvaorite, he’s not the second most popular among bettors. Instead, that honor belongs to Matteo Berrettini (+4000) with 13.87% of bets backing him.

Roger Federer is the next most popular pick, backed by 10.72% of bettors. Tsitsipas (5.85%) and Medvedev (4.83%) round out the top five.
