Golf Odds: Bettors Back Spieth To Bounce Back At Colonial

The PGA Tour is back this week after a three month hiatus and a seriously good field line-up in Texas at the famous Colonial Country Club. With the exception of Tiger Woods, the world’s best make up the field and as you can expect, it’s a tight betting heat.

Rory McIlroy is the favorite at +800 (8/1) with the likes of Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Brooks Koepka all in the mix in golf’s big return. The big question is just how the world’s elite will cope with the enforced absence? Who will be ready to roll? And who will be a little rusty?

Bettors have decided that the break could have done three-time major champion Jordan Spieth the world of good and he’s been the second best backed player with Oddschecker since the markets opened. The best odds available now are +5000 ($10 bet would win you $500) with BetMGM, but FanDuel are a little more conservative and must have seen some money for him, so go +3500 ($10 bet would win you $350).

Spieth has struggled with his game in the last couple of years and perhaps an enforced break will have revilatized the major winner.
