2023 WWE Royal Rumble Draftkings Contest Picks

The 2023 WWE Royal Rumble is here, and while you can't really bet on the matches, DraftKings is running a free-to-play contest with a prize pool of $25,000! Tom Jacobs breaks down how to enter it here. I'm here to drop my picks for the free-to-play contest with my entry. The Royal Rumble starts at 8:00 p.m. EST and can be found on Peacock.

The Royal Rumble consists of two 30-person battle royale-style events, with 30 men and 30 women competing to see who the last one standing is. There are typically surprise appearances as well, as many have speculated that we could see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and even John Cena. With a big night ahead, let's go through the questions and drop our predictions.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question One: Will Entrants #1 and #2 be from the same brand?

• Same Brand
• Different Brand

Pick: I think we see one from Raw and one from Smackdown.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Two: When will the #1 entrant be eliminated?

• Before #4 is Revealed
• Between #4 and #17's Reveal
• Between #18 and #30's Reveal
• #1 is the winner

Pick: Between #4 and #17. Before, number four feels too early, but we will probably see a big surprise cameo in between 4 and 17 that takes down 1.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Three: Who will enter first?

• Omos
• Braut Strowman

Pick: Omos. This is mostly a toss-up, but Omos presents the bigger obstacle and will likely enter first because of it.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Four: Who will enter first?

• Gunther
• Ricochet

Pick: Ricochet. Gunther could stay in until the very end, and I see him entering late as the bigger favorite to win.

• Austin Theory
• Bobby Lashley

Pick: Bobby Lashley

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Six: Who, if anyone, will interfere in the Rumble?

• Paul Heyman
• Scarlett
• MVP
• JBL

Pick: Paul Heyman. I could see him helping out Roman Reigns.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Seven: Who will have the most eliminations?

• Austin Theory
• Bobby Lashley
• Cody Rhodes
• Omos

Pick: Bobby Lashley. He poses the biggest threat of the four, in my opinion.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Eight: If Omos is eliminated, how many people will be involved in removing him from the ring?

• Fewer than 7
• 7 or more

Pick: Fewer than 7. This is a complete guess, but I'll ride fewer.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Nine: Will an eliminated participant re-enter the ring?

• Yes
• No

Pick: Yes. It's the Royal Rumble... of course. Someone will re-enter.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Ten: Will any participants wrestle while outside the ring?

• Yes
• No

Pick: Yes. It feels like while the superstars are in the ring, we may see some side action outside the ring from smaller names.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Eleven: Which scenario will play out?

• Dominik Mysterio eliminates Rey Mysterio
• Rey Mysterio eliminates Dominik Mysterio
• Neither Mysterio is involved in each other's elimination

Pick: Neither. Rey has been outspoken about refusing to fight his son.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Twelve: Will anyone have more than 7 individual eliminations in the Royal Rumble?

• Yes
• No

Pick: Yes. If we see Stone Cold, The Rock, or John Cena, you have to think they go off and eliminate everyone and get over seven in the process.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Thirteen: How many eliminations will be made by current free agents?

• Three or more
• Two or fewer

Pick: Three or more. There are enough of them that this should happen.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Fourteen: Will Roman Reigns or Kevin Owens participate in the Rumble?

• Yes
• No

Pick: Yes. As I said above, I think we see Hemyan interfere by helping Reigns. Title match fighters aren't typically in the rumble, but this year's rumble seems like a special circumstance.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Fifteen: How many superstars will be in the ring at one time?

• 7 or fewer
• 8 or more

Pick: 8 or more. This will be a massive royal rumble, and the action should be good.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Sixteen: Will number 30 be a member of:

Pick: Smackdown. Basically just a guess. No real educated opinion on this one.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Seventeen: Will Cody Rhodes be the 30th entrant into the Rumble?

• Yes
• No

Pick: No. He should enter much earlier.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Eighteen: Of these two, who will be the last one standing?

• Cody Rhodes
• Seth "Freakin" Rollins

Pick: Rhodes. He's the bigger name, and Rollins will be out early.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Nineteen: Will the match be won by a former Rumble winner?

• Yes
• No

Pick: No. I went back and forth on this one, but we should see a new winner.

WWE DraftKings Pool Question Twenty: Which entrant will win the Rumble?

• 1-17
• 18-25
• 26-28
• 29-30

Pick: 18-25
