The 2023 WWE Royal Rumble is finally here. While Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley lead the way for oddsmakers favorites to win both rumble matches, 29 other men and women will look to secure their spot at this coming April's WrestleMania with a win!

The Road to WrestleMania is officially upon us, as the 2023 Royal Rumble is finally here. Thirty men and thirty women will participate in each rumble match to headline this weekend's premium live event. In addition to both rumble matches, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title against Kevin Owens. Bray Wyatt makes his in-ring return as 'The Eater of Worlds' will face the brash LA Knight in a Lights Out match. The RAW Women's Championship will be on the line when Bianca Belair defends her title against Alexa Bliss to round out Saturday night's card.

The probable main event of the evening will more than likely see the coronation of Cody Rhodes, finally earning his shot at the WWE Championship at this coming April's WrestleMania. Sami Zayn picking up the win would make the most intriguing story, especially if Roman Reigns is to retain his title against Zayn's best friend, Kevin Owens, earlier in the evening.

While Rhodes and Zayn seem like the only realistic options to be the last man standing, if The Rock decides to pick up his phone at the last second, all bets are off.

Women's Royal Rumble Match Breakdown

In what looks to be Rhea Ripley's rumble match to lose, the other 29 women involved have quite the odds to overcome to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 39. There's not much else to talk about for this one other than who will be a surprise entrant in this year's women's rumble match.

Becky Lynch, a surprise appearance from Charlotte Flair or Bianca Belair, could always be in the mix to be the last woman standing, but it looks like it's Rhea Ripley's time.

Roman Reigns (C) vs. Kevin Owens — Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

Saturday night, Roman Reigns will walk into the Royal Rumble as an 880-day champion. He is looking to knock off Reigns, and his historic title reign will be former Universal Champion Kevin Owens. Things get more complicated when you toss Owens' former best friend and current member of The Bloodline, Sami Zayn, into the mix. Zayn has been perhaps the biggest star of the entire program between Reigns and Owens, and according to Reigns, he needs to prove himself to remain part of The Bloodline.

Will Zayn prove his allegiance to Reigns and co., or will Zayn help his lifelong friend secure the historic upset?

Bianca Belair (C) vs. Alexa Bliss — RAW Women's Championship

The EST. of WWE looks to knock yet another former multi-champion off the list of contenders as Bianca Belair defends her title against Alexa Bliss with the RAW Women's Championship on the line. Belair has held the RAW Women's Title since defeating Becky Lynch during night one of WrestleMania 38 this past April and hasn't looked back ever since. Belair has defeated the likes of the aforementioned Lynch and former champions Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Asuka, Carmella, and Bayley before her showdown with Bliss this weekend.

Meanwhile, Bliss is looking for her sixth title reign when she faces Belair on Saturday night. Bliss took a long time off from in-ring action in 2022 due to nagging injuries and her nuptials with recording artist Ryan Cabrera. Upon her return to WWE programming, Bliss has seemingly somewhat reverted to her supernatural character as she's aligned herself with Uncle Howdy, potentially signifying a reunion with Bray Wyatt.

Will Belair add Bliss to the list of former champions she's beaten, or will Bliss deliver the RAW Women's Title to Uncle Howdy?

Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight — Lights Out Match

The most intriguing match of the night when it comes to truly not knowing what we're in store for is Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight in a Lights Out match. Wyatt was shockingly released by the company in the Summer of 2021 and made one of the most significant returns in recent memory after this past October's Extreme Rules premium live event. While Wyatt has yet to compete inside of an official match, he and Knight have engaged in quite the entertaining back-and-forth. There will undoubtedly be a ton of cameos in this match as The Undertaker, Uncle Howdy, and Alexa Bliss have inserted themselves into this feud in one way or another.

Will Bray Wyatt win his return match, or will Uncle Howdy continue to turn on Wyatt and allow Knight to pick up the upset win?
