WWE Royal Rumble 2023 Odds: Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, More Listed as Favorites

The Royal Rumble is this weekend. One of WWE’s premier events, the Rumble has massive implications for the company’s direction not only for the WrestleMania season but for the rest of the year. So what do the books believe is in store at this year’s event?

Men’s Royal Rumble

There have been massive odds movements in the last few days on the Men’s side. Sure Cody Rhodes hasn’t seen any changes at the top, but there are a few who are quickly catching him.

Rhodes is still given -110 odds, or an implied 52.4% chance to win. He’s the clear favorite. However, Sami Zayn has made a massive charge up the market in recent days. He’s seen his odds slashed from +350 to +275, or a change from an implied 18.2% chance to a 26.7% chance. This after Zayn had his odds slashed from +900 to +350 the week before. Zayn is slated to be a significant part of the rumble, and there’s a real chance he will be victorious.

It also has to be noted that Stone Cold Steve Austin is now given a realistic chance to win. After being left off the market for the first three weeks of January, Austin is now given +550 odds or an implied 15.4% chance to win. With rumors about WWE asking him to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, he had to make an appearance. After all, what could be a more shocking moment than the return and victory of The Rattlesnake?

Women’s Royal Rumble

Unlike the Men, the Women’s side has a clear-cut favorite, with nobody else even close. This is Rhea Ripley’s year, it seems.

Ripley is given -134 odds, or an implied 57.3% chance to take home her first Royal Rumble victory. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as WWE recently has her fighting men and is pushing her as someone to be physically dominant for the Women’s division. A dominant Rumble performance would only continue that story.

If anyone is going to keep Ripley from winning, it’s Becky Lynch. The Man is given +350 odds, or an implied 22.2% chance to win her second Rumble. No other wrestler is given even a 7% chance to come out victorious.

Pitch Black Match

For Bray Wyatt’s first official match back with the company, it’ll be a pitch-black match. A first of it's kind of occurrence in the company, and sportsbooks don’t know what to make of it.

There’s only one of two ways this match can go. Either Bray Wyatt wins, which is what books expect at -227, or an implied 69.4% chance. Or, Uncle Howdy interferes and costs Wyatt the match giving LA Knight the biggest win of his career, which is given +150 odds, or an implied 40% chance of happening.

This match has the tightest odds of any three singles on the card. So don’t discount the upset here.

WWE Championship Match

The winning streak will continue for Roman Reigns. He hasn’t lost in a televised match since TLC in 2019. That’s more than 3 years without a loss. His current world title reign is also the sixth longest in WWE history, and the longest since Hulk Hogan held it for 1,474 days from 1984-1988. That isn’t going to end at the Rumble.

Reigns is given -714 odds, or an implied 87.7% chance to retain his title. Meanwhile, Kevin Owens is given +333 odds, or an implied 23.1% chance to pull off one of the biggest upsets in WWE history.

Raw Women’s Championship Match

The Raw Women’s title has a similar story. Bianca Belair has been a dominant champion and is the face of the Women’s division. The company will not likely take the title off her leading into WrestleMania season.

As a result, Belair has given the same dominant odds at -714, or an implied 87.7% chance to win. Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss is given +333 odds or an implied 23.1% chance to win here.

That said, even the small chance that Bliss wins should be dashed by the simple fact she’s among the ten favorites to win the Women’s Rumble. She wouldn’t be a serious contender to win a shot at the title if she was holding one of her own.
