Christian Pulisic Next Club Odds: Sportsbooks Name Newcastle Heavy Favorites to Land Pulisic

The biggest star in American soccer, Christian Pulisic, is likely going to be on the move in the January transfer window. After struggling to find his place at Chelsea, the odds of landing at another top-flight club in the Premier League aren’t great. As such, Christian Pulisic is expected to land with a wealthy mid-table team. At the top of the list is Newcastle.

Christian Pulisic Next Club Odds

The Magpies are given +300 odds, or an implied 25% chance to land Pulisic in January. No other team is even given a 10% chance to land him. Even Leeds, who already fields two American starters and has an American manager, isn’t given a great chance at +2000 or an implied 4.8% chance.

Perhaps Pulisic holds out for a move to a bigger club though. The books aren’t ready to rule out Juventus or Dortmund yet. Juve is given +1200 odds, or an implied 7.7% chance to take a shot on another American, in the same window they’re likely to sell Weston McKennie. Meanwhile, Dortmund is given +1400 odds, or an implied 6.7% chance to bring Pulisic back to the club that turned him into a star in the first place.

The Pulisic question is a hard one. He’s clearly talented enough to play for one of the best clubs in the world. After all, he was involved in all four of the US World Cup goals. That level of play has just eluded him with his clubs though. So does he take a hit and join a lesser side in hopes of gaining more regular football to rebuild his brand, or does he hope to join a bigger side that perhaps betters suits his style of play? For now, the books believe a move to Newcastle who has the money to compete with anyone in the world, is likely to come. However, it wouldn’t be the biggest shock if he waits to see if a Champions League side comes calling instead.
