Having finished first and second in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, a tantalising rematch between Too Darn Hot and Phoenix of Spain takes place today at Royal Ascot.

But where’s the money going? Who is the favorite? Is there anyone else to watch out for?

Luckily, Oddschecker is here to crunch the numbers on the big race today.

Who is the favorite?

John Gosden’s Too Darn Hot currently leads the market on the day of the big clash, touted as a +200 shot to hose up in the St James’ Palace Stakes.

Although, he isn’t favourite by much. Having left Too Darn Hot freezing cold last time out, Phoenix of Spain is +250 to repeat the feat at Ascot today.

Where’s the money going?

Too Darn Hot is definitely the punter’s pick ahead of the 4:20pm today, accumulating 37% of all bets on the Group One encounter.

That demotes the Irish 2000 Guineas winner Phoenix of Spain to the second most backed entrant, accruing 25% of all action through Oddschecker.

It isn’t necessarily just a two horse race, however, with Oddscheker Tipster's Andy Holding’s hope King of Comedy just on the periphery of the leading two.

The three-year-old has attracted 12% of all bets in the last 24 hours, although has drifted from +650 into +700 this morning.

Is there anyone else to watch out for?

The aforementioned King of Comedy is the pick of the bunch elsewhere, however, Skardu piloted by James Doyle is attracting some attention in the market.

Nibbled in from +1200 into +1100 this morning, Skardu is the fifth most backed on the grids. That’s slightly ahead of the French-trained Shaman – who’s attracted 6% of all bets at +1200.

Despite being assigned top quality jockeys, Circus Maximus (+1600) and Fox Champion (+2800) are both noted as outsiders under the rides of Ryan Moore and Silvestre de Sousa respectively.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Too Darn Hot struggled over the longer trip at York, before making a very quick return to the track at Curragh.

"Connections have since admitted that this might not have been the best plan. John Gosden's horse will be difficult to beat now fresh, and i'd expect that price to shorten as we get closer to the race."
