F1 Hungarian GP Odds: George Russell Shoots Up Odds Board After Qualifying First

Qualifying for the Hungaria GP was pretty wide open coming into Saturday's event, but no one expected Mercedes' George Russell to come away with pole position. Still, that's exactly what he did.

Russell finished qualifying with a top time of 1:17.377, giving him the first pole of his entire F1 career.

This understandably had a massive impact on the latest F1 odds for the Hungarian GP. Prior to Saturday's qualifying, Russell's odds sat at +4500. Now, following his tremendous showing in qualifying, he's the third favorite to win the race.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc started the weekend as the favorite and ended qualifying that way as well, but his odds actually drifted, going up from the +100 price he started qualifying with.

What's even more shocking is that the Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, who have dominated all season, qualified 10th and 11th, respectively.

As you can see, the Hungarian GP qualifying had a massive impact of the F1 odds for this upcoming race on Sunday. Let's start at the top of the qualifying board.

George Russell came into Saturday's qualifying with +4500 odds to win the Hungarian GP. Those odds were indicative of a 2.2% chance to win. Now, his Hungarian GP odds sit at +350 after he took the pole. At +350, his implied probability is up to 22.2%.

But, Russell still isn't the favorite to win the Hungarian GP. That honor belongs to Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Leclerc finished qualifying in the No. 3 spot but comes in with the shortest Hungarian GP odds at +155. However, those odds were shorter at +100 prior to qualifying.
