When Is the 2022 NHL Draft?

The 2022 NHL Draft will begin on Thursday, July 7th. After the first round concludes on Thursday night, rounds two through seven occur on Friday, July 8th. This is a deviation from the typical weekend format that used to be held on Friday and Saturday. The draft will be held on-site in Montréal for the first time since 2019.

What Time Does the 2022 NHL Draft Start?

The first round will officially begin at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 7th. The second round begins on Friday, July 8th, at 11 a.m. ET and will be sped up to accommodate the remaining six rounds. So do not tune in on Saturday or Sunday! Remember, the opening round begins Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET live from Montréal, Quebec.

How to Watch the 2022 NHL Draft

There are several different ways to watch all seven rounds of the 2022 NHL Draft. If you're tuning in from the United States, ESPN and ESPN+ will carry the primary coverage, while viewers in Canada have Sportsnet and TVA Sports as multi-language options. Rounds two through seven will shift from ESPN to the NHL Network, but ESPN+ subscribers will continue to have access in the U.S. Sportsnet will continue providing coverage in English, and TVA Sports will do the same, albeit in French, for Canadian viewers the entirety of the second day.
