College Football Playoff Championship: Michigan Given 65% Chance To Win The CFP

We've got one more game in the college football season, which will be good.

The Washington Huskies will take on the Michigan Wolverines for the College Football Playoff on January 8.

Washington and Michigan are both 14-0 on the season. But only one team will finish undefeated with a trophy.

Take a look at the odds for this enticing matchup.

College Football Playoff Spread

The Michigan Wolverines are favorites for the College Football Playoff in Houston, Texas, at the NRG Stadium.

Michigan was ranked No. 1 heading into the Semifinals, while Washington was ranked second.

But even after Washington's win over Texas, 37-31, oddsmakers still believe Michigan is better by more than a field goal.

Obviously, Washington hasn't lost a game this season. They've also won multiple times as underdogs against Oregon and added a massive upset against Texas on Monday.

However, after reviewing all of the analytics for this matchup, I'm also convinced that Michigan is the better team heading into the College Football Playoff.

College Football Playoff Total

The total for this matchup is sitting at 55.

Washington and Michigan have both hit the Over in seven games this season. Neither team has consistently hit the Over or Under at a high rate. It's been almost even.

I like Michigan's defense more than Washington's. However, although Washington's offense is more exciting in the air, Michigan has scored almost the same amount of points as the Huskies this season.

The Wolverines have a major advantage in the run game against the Huskies, so I still believe we'll get a high-scoring game between Washington and Michigan.

College Football Playoff Moneyline

The implied probability indicates that Michigan has about a 65% chance of defeating the Huskies on January 8.

We finally have a College Football game with a moneyline under -200, making it fun for all bettors. You don't have to lay tons of money to get a decent payout with Michigan at -185 and Washington at +155.

As I suggested above, Michigan is favored due to its defense. Washington can't stop the run very well and miss a lot of tackles. The Wolverines love to run the football and earn massive gains from it.

But it's tough to stop the Huskies and their offense between quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and some of the best wide receivers in college football.
