Key Dates for the 2019 College Football Season
We are just over four months removed from the start of the 2019 college football season. Here are some key dates to note for the 2019 season as we look ahead to Clemson’s defense of the national title:
Saturday, Aug. 24 2019 - “Week Zero”
There will be two games on Saturday, Aug. 24, with Arizona taking a road trip to play Hawaii and the Camping World Kick-off game between Miami (FL) and Florida.
Aug. 31-Sept. 2 2019 - Opening Weekend
The season will start in earnest on Labor Day Weekend, with games Thursday night through Labor Day Monday night. Three marquee neutral site games are on the slate for Aug. 31, with South Carolina taking on North Carolina in Charlotte, Auburn playing Oregon in Arlington and Alabama playing Duke in Atlanta.
Dec. 6 & Dec. 7 2019 - The Pac-12 Championship Game
The Pac-12 championship game is scheduled for Friday night, Dec. 6, with the SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, AAC, MAC, Mountain West and Sun Belt to follow on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Dec, 14 2019 - Army-Navy Game
Army-Navy will get its traditional standalone Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, to conclude college football’s regular season schedule.
Dec. 14 2019 - Heisman Trophy Presentation
The 2019 Heisman Trophy will be awarded on the night of Saturday, Dec. 14, in New York City.
Dec.21, 2019 - Beginning of the Bowl Schedule
The 2019 college football bowl schedule, with 40 games on the slate, will start Dec. 21.
Dec. 28, 2019 - National College Football Playoff Semi-finals
The College Football Playoff semifinals will take place Dec. 28, 2019. The Peach Bowl, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and the Fiesta Bowl, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, will be the semifinal contests.
Jan. 13, 2020 - National College Championship Game
The College Football Playoff Championship Game will take place Jan. 13, 2020, a little later than usual, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
