Kevin Holland vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk Odds, Date, How to Watch, and Predictions for UFC 302

The long-awaited UFC 302 is now officially upon us, as Dustin Poirier gets one final shot at the undisputed lightweight belt, this time against the pound-for-pound number one Islam Makhachev. Before we get there we have four other terrific main event fights, with a co-main middleweight bout between Paolo Costa and Sean Strickland leading us into the grand finale.

Right before we get there, however, another middleweight clash is upon us, as Kevin Holland comes back to 185 pounds for an enticing matchup against Michal Oleksiejczuk. As fight night quickly approaches, let’s take a closer look at both fighters, the odds as of Wednesday, and who I like to win this one.

Kevin Holland vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk UFC 302 Prediction

Kevin Holland (25-11-0)

After fighting for years at welterweight, Holland will return to middleweight for this fight, as he takes on one of the hottest young fighters in the division. The last time we saw Holland he had the unfortunate draw of taking on the UFC’s hottest new prospect Michael Page, losing a decision in March to drop his second straight.

Prior to those losses, Holland had finished Santiago Ponzinibbio and Michael Chiesa inside the distance, as he’s now lost two, won two, and lost two over his past six fights.

Michal Oleksiejczuk (19-7-0)

On the other side of this middleweight clash, Oleksiejczuk also comes in following a loss, to Michael Pereira in the first round of UFC 299 in March. Prior to the loss, Oleksiejczuk had won three of his previous four fights, as a statement win here would certainly put himself into the top 15 conversation.

It’s worth noting that of Oleksiejczuk’s most recent four wins, dating back to Shamil Gamzatov in October 2021, all four have come in the very first round via TJO.

Kevin Holland vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk Pick

It’s easy to look at both of these fighters' recent fight results and see why oddsmakers expect this one to end in the first round. With an average UFC fight time of 1.74 rounds, however, and a fighter in Holland who’s experienced enough to not get caught, I’m not so sure.

With a lot on the line for both of these guys, I expect a conservative first round to bleed enough into the second for us to cash this over.

Pick: Over 1.5 Rounds (-150) at DraftKings Sportsbook
