Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Odds: Paul Given 62.3% Chance to Beat Tyson in Boxing Match

Last month, Jake Paul announced he would take on Mike Tyson this summer in a shocking turn of events. It has a chance to be one of the most watched boxing matches of all time.

Paul has been ratcheting up his boxing career over the last year, although this is a massive shift from what has been expected. He has been fighting many other retired fighters in recent matches, but no one of this caliber or age range.

Tyson hasn't fought since November 2020, where he battled fellow old-timer Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition. Before that, he hadn't stepped in the ring since his retirement in 2005. That's a long time away from the sport, but he still looked good in his lone appearance, and has proven to still be in shape.

Will Paul be able to outlast the charge from Tyson on this massive stage? It will be a battle of experience vs. athleticism, and the odds are getting narrower by the day. Let's take a look at the latest Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson odds to see who could emerge victorious in this showdown.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Odds

FighterMoneylineImplied Probability
Jake Paul-16562.3%
Mike Tyson+13542.6%

Jake Paul opened as a much heavier favorite, peaking at -350 or more before crashing down in the subsequent days.

While it makes sense because Paul is a young fighter in his athletic prime, he is still going against one of the greatest heavyweights in the history of the sport. Tyson has been around the block and seen it all, and his experience certainly commands some respect on this line.

The odds came crashing down to Tyson +135 from the initial highs, with bettors believing "Iron Mike" might still have something in the tank. He is still in decently good shape for 58 years old, and can land heavy punches on the inexperienced Paul.

Paul still maintains a 62% chance of winning with the updated -165 odds, as he has stayed the favorite throughout. The odds are subject to change as more details get released about the fight, including length and glove sizes.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Prediction

Many of the details for this fight have yet to be released. First, we don't know how many rounds it will be or how long they will last.

The assumption is that we'll get eight rounds. Tyson went eight rounds in his last exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, so that's probably where this fight will end up.

Tyson excelled in that fight, feeding body shots to Jones Jr. and outlasting him on the stamina side. That was just four years ago, and Tyson appears to be in as good, if not better shape as he has ramped up for this event.

While that one was against a 50-year-old and this time he'll have to face the 27-year-old Paul, his qualities still stand. He knows how to bring the pain and should certainly still have better technique than the youngster. Paul does boast a three-inch height advantage and five-inches on reach, and will be likely throwing more total punches. But if Tyson can hang around, he should ultimately be able to teach Paul a lesson in the end.
