Top 10 College Basketball Offensive Teams

1. Gonzaga

It's no surprise to see the Zags leading this list against. Gonzaga has been an elite offensive college basketball team for many seasons now. The Zags have played 26 games and scored 2,244 points, averaging 86.3 points per game and leading the NCAA in points scored.

Led by Drew Timme, the forward averages 32.4 minutes per game and 21.1 points per game. Julian Strawther is another crucial part of Gonzaga's offense, recording 130 field-goals made through his 26 starting games. The Zags have multiple elite scorers, which is why they are ranked as the No. 1 college basketball offensive team.

2. Oral Roberts

Oral Roberts had an extremely successful 2022 NCAA Tournament and it looks like they've been riding that momentum through this year's season. The Golden Eagles have had 27 games this year and have recorded 2,308 total points.

The Golden Eagles' offense is led by Max Abmas. The guard has tallied 188 field-goals made this year and has an impressive 90.8 free-throw percentage. Abmas averages 1.8 turnovers per game, keeping the ball on Oral Roberts' side of the court. He's going to make a massive impact for the Golden Eagles in this year's NCAA tournament.

3. Toledo

An offensive team that has surprised most this year is Toledo. The Toledo Rockets are currently tied in first place in the Mid American Standings with a 10-2 conference record and a 19-6 overall record. RayJ Dennis, JT Shumate, and Setric Millner Jr. lead this Toledo offense.

Through their 25 games played, the Rockets have totaled 2,107 points, averaging 84.3 points a game. Per game, Toledo makes an average of 30 field goals, which is the third highest in all of college basketball.

4. Southern Utah

Southern Utah and Toledo are neck and neck for majority of these scoring categories. The Thunderbirds also have an average of 84.3 points made per game, however, their field goal percentage is at 47.5 compared to Toledo's 48.4. With an average pace of 73.2, Southern Utah is one of the most dominating college basketball offenses this year.

5. Cornell

Another fast-paced and elite scoring team this year is the Cornell Big Red. The Ivy League Conference isn't as competitive as others, but the Big Red lands in fifth place for their conference and are 15-8 overall. Even though their record isn't as stellar as other teams, their offense is one of the most superior in all of the NCAA.

The Big Red averages 84 points and 30.3 field-goals made per game. Led by senior Greg Dolan, No. 4 is on the court for 29.4 minutes per game and makes 50.9 percent of his field goals. Dolan will be essential to Cornell's NCAA Tournament chances.

6. Alabama

What sport is Alabama not good at? The Crimson Tide are elite at scoring this year. Averaging 83.4 points per game, Alabama is in first place in the SEC conference and is in a great spot for the March Madness tournament. The Crimson Tide have an extremely impressive overall 22-3 record and 12-0 record in the SEC.

Brandon Miller, Mark Sears, Noah Clowney, Jaden Bradley, and Charles Bediako are all essential pieces to this Alabama offense and will continue to make an impact heading into the NCAA Tournament.

7. Youngstown State

Next on the top 10 college basketball offensive teams' list is Youngstown State. The Penguins stand in first place in the Horizon League with a 20-7 overall record.

Youngstown State has various impressive stats, however, their 49.2 percentage rate for field-goals made leads the list.

8. Arizona

The Wildcats are consistently listed as a top team both offensively and defensively each and every year, and it is for a good reason. NBA stars come from Arizona every year. Historically, the Wildcats excel in March Madness, winning three National Championships in 1996, 2000, and 2018.

The Pac-12 is a difficult conference, with UCLA, USC, Oregon, Arizona, and many more talented basketball programs. The Wildcats stand in second place with a 22-4 overall record. Averaging 83.2 points per game, Arizona is in a great spot heading into the NCAA Tournament.
