Sportsbooks rate Phoenix Suns’ chances of winning the NBA Championship this year as the best they have been for over ten years.
The Suns’ can be backed at a best price of +6600, meaning a $10 wager would return a profit of $660 if Phoenix pull it off. The odds carry an implied probability of just 1.49%, but some oddsmakers have posted odds as short as +4000 (2.44% implied chance).
These odds have shortened from +10000 just 24 hours ago, following the acquisition of All-Star guard Chris Paul from Oklahoma City Thunder.
This, combined with the fact that the Suns finished the season flawlessly in the bubble and go into the new term with excellent momentum, have prompted some sportsbooks to more than double their chances overnight.
OddsChecker spokesperson Pete Watt: “The rebuilding phase looks to be complete in Phoenix, with Robert Sarver’s sharp offseason acumen showing that he means business this year.”
“Devin Booker has been reinforced big time, and bettors have been getting behind the Suns following news of the trade; 10.34% of all bets placed on the NBA Winner market have backed Phoenix in the past 24 hours.”
