With most professional sports leagues laying out plans for their return from the current pause in play, the MLB once again finds itself behind the eight ball.

On Saturday, the MLBPA rejected the most recent proposal from the MLB, further muddying the waters for a return to baseball.

Rather than request a counter offer from the league, the MLBPA simply asked them to set a schedule and tell them when and where to show up.

This is just the latest in a long line of issues between the Players Association and the league.

Players have been at odds with the league over the amount of games on the schedule when they return and the amount of pay they’d receive for a shorter season.

The MLB’s latest offer included a 72-game season and 80% prorated salary for all players.

Despite an unclear future for the MLB, sportsbooks are still offering futures odds.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the current favorite to win the World Series once play returns, sitting at +380.

The Yankees aren’t far behind with +400 best odds, but the third favorite Houston Astros are +800 to win their second World Series in four years.

Hopefully a return to play plan will start to take shape quickly now that the players have put it back in the league’s hands.
