Luton vs Everton

Football betting analyst Mark O’Haire is back with his latest Premier League predictions for this weekend’s matches, starting with Everton's trip to Luton.

Elijah Adebayo Over 1.5 Shots

Advised Bet: 1pt @ 8/11 Betfair/Paddy Power

Having picked up only five points from their past 14 Premier League outings (W1-D2-L11), Luton’s campaign has reached crisis point. If the Hatters are to stand any chance of top-flight survival, Friday night’s home clash against Everton has to be considered must-win by Rob Edwards’ outfit and I’m expecting a proactive effort from the Kenilworth Road club.

Injuries have blighted Luton’s progress in 2024, yet last week’s return off the bench of Elijah Adebayo promises to give the Hatters a much-needed boost in forward areas. The nine-goal forward enjoyed a 12-minute cameo at Wolves and is now in-line to lead the Town attack – he therefore looks overpriced at 8/11 (1.72) to attempt at least two efforts at goal.

Adebayo covered this line in five of his seven Premier League showdowns before injury and produced Kenilworth Road shot tallies of 4-4-3-3 in the four matches before being ruled out in March. In fact, the 26-year-old has managed two attempts or more in six of nine home encounters when appearing for more than 25 minutes this season.

Liverpool vs Tottenham

Alisson Over 2.5 Saves

Advised Bet: 1pt @ 6/5 bet365

A strange atmosphere might be expected at Anfield on Sunday when Liverpool and Tottenham lock horns on Merseyside. The Reds saw their title challenge go up in smoke over the past fortnight, whilst Spurs’ top-four hopes also been extinguished following damaging back-to-back Premier League losses against capital rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

A pressure-free environment may lead to a more open and attacking encounter and the market is certainly anticipating a free-wheeling contest with Over 3.5 Goals trading as short as 8/13 (1.62) in places. However, there is still value to be had and the 6/5 (2.20) on Alisson to make Over 2.5 Saves holds plenty of appeal based on Liverpool’s recent rearguard efforts.

Since early March, Liverpool have faced the following shots on-target numbers across all competitions: 6-6-2-11-3-3-5-7-4-2-5-6-8 with the Reds keeper returning save numbers of: 6-5-1-7-2-3-3-4-3-2-4-4-6. Go back further and this selection has paid-out in 19 of Liverpool’s past 26 dates since the start of January, including at home to Sheffield United.

Crystal Palace vs Man United

Harry Maguire Over 0.5 Shots

Advised Bet: 1pt @ 5/6 Betfair/Paddy Power

Manchester United’s calamitous campaign continued last weekend as the Red Devils allowed 16 shots at home to Burnley and were fairly fortunate to escape with a share of the spoils. With only two triumphs across their past nine Premier League matches (W2-D4-L3), United’s poor form has put their European qualification place under serious strain.

Monday night’s trip to Crystal Palace is far from a gimmie following the Eagles’ excellent improvements under Oliver Glasner. However, I can’t resist an interest in backing Harry Maguire to manage just one effort at goal at 5/6 (1.83). The towering centre-half has paid-out in this market in 11 of his last 14 Man Utd starts in the Premier League.
