20:00 Saturday

Aston Villa host Chelsea at 8 pm on Saturday. The Villans are looking to round off a miserable week for Mauricio Pochettino’s side by picking up all three points.

Unai Emery’s side have their sights set on qualifying for next season’s Champions League. They are six points clear of Tottenham in the race but Postecoglou’s men have two games in hand. Villa won’t want to give Tottenham the initiative by dropping points here.

Chelsea are still in with a chance of qualifying for Europe despite spending large parts of the season in the bottom half of the table. Pochettino knows he needs a strong finish to the season to fend off the sack.

Aston Villa To Win

Aston Villa have established themselves as a real force. Unai Emery has transformed the club since taking over and they are the favourites coming into this one. They have already beaten Chelsea in the league this season.

Emery’s side have been a real force in front of their own fans. They have won 12 of their 17 league matches at Villa Park and have looked deadly in the process. Villa have scored an average of 2.53 goals in those matches, the joint most goals scored in home games across the top flight.

Chelsea’s away form leaves a lot to be desired. They have won just two of their last 10 away matches in the league. Over that period, they are conceding 2.3 goals on average so it could be a long night for them against a rampant Aston Villa side.

Over 8.5 Corners

These teams have gone toe-to-toe three times already this season. There’s were 16 corners in the league meeting. The two FA Cup clashes saw 14 and 12 corners so over 8.5 looks a good bet here.

Aston Villa’s home matches have seen an average of 9.94 corners. There have been nine or more corners in their last seven league matches at Villa Park with those games averaging 12.43.

Chelsea’s Premier League away matches this season have seen exactly 10 corners per game on average. This drops slightly to 9.14 across their six away league matches this calendar year but it’s still above the required mark for this betting angle.

Conor Gallagher To Make Over 1.5 Fouls

Chelsea are making 11.91 fouls per league game on average. That’s just above the overall league average. They take on an Aston Villa side that are the third most fouled in the division with their opponents averaging 12.68 fouls per game so picking out a Chelsea player for fouls makes sense here.

Conor Gallagher has made the most fouls in the Premier League this season with a tally of 68. Enzo Fernandez could be out for this one so Gallagher will play a deeper midfield role, putting him in a more likely position to make fouls.
