Punchestown Festival Tips: Day 1 Most Popular Bets
Champion Novice Hurdle - Mystical Power
Supreme one-two Slade Steel and Mystical Power meet again in the KPMG Champion Novice Hurdle on Day 1 at the Punchestown Festival, with Mystical Power well fancied by the oddschecker community to reverse the form from Cheltenham.
Mystical Power (15/8 on William Hill) has taken just under 40% of the bets on the race, while Slade Steel finds himself in 28.7% of the betslips.
Willie Mullins' Mystical Power made a winning return to the track in the Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree, beating the reopposing Firefox by half a length.
William Hill
- Solid in-play betting service
- Cash-in option to help increase profitability
- Excellent reputation within the UK betting-industry
Champion Chase – Dinoblue
The Cheltenham Champion Chase winner Captain Guinness takes on Mares’ Chase second Dinoblue in the William Hill Champion Chase at Punchestown.
However, it is Dinoblue (11/10 on BetMGM) attracting all the betting interest.
Backed by 65% of bettors for the race since final declarations, she was put up by Racing Lee in his debut piece for oddschecker.
She’s already a winner at the trip, has bagged a Grade 1 this season (Leopardstown in December), skipped Aintree and is lightly-raced.

Champion Novice Chase – Monty’s Star
Monty’s Star (9/4 at the time of publishing) comes up against Spillane’s Tower and Embassy Gardens in the penultimate race on Day 1 at the Punchestown Festival 2024.
He was put up as the Day 1 NAP for Road to Cheltenham, who believes his second behind Fact To File at the Cheltenham Festival is the best piece of form for the race.
Spillane’s Tower, meanwhile, won the Grade 1 WillowWarm Gold Cup at Fairyhouse last month but it wasn't the strongest race.
Monty's Star has taken just short of 50% of the bets through oddschecker.
