Scottish Grand National Runners & Odds: Who has Willie Mullins declared?

The bookmakers’ favourite Macdermott has been declared by Willie Mullins for the 2024 Scottish Grand National on Saturday, as the Closutton handler bids to become the first Irishman in 70 years to win the National Hunt Trainers' Championship title.

Mullins has six of the 26 horses declared for the £200,000 Grand National on Scotland's first £500,000 raceday, with Macdermott (Danny Mullins) joined by Klarc Kent (Sean O'Keeffe), Mr Incredible (Patrick Mullins), Ontheropes (Brian Hayes), Spanish Harlem (Paul Townend) and We'llhavewan (Kieran Callaghan).

At the time of writing, Mullins is rated more than 66% likely to be crowned this year’s king of the jumps even at the best price of 1/2 on Betfred. It is a pivotal race as there is a £112,540 first prize on offer for the Scottish Grand National winner at Ayr.

Mullins, who has generated £2,874,693 from 19 victories, had been a 7/4 chance to win the trainers' title going into last Saturday's Grand National at Aintree.

However, the £500,000 prize banked for winner I Am Maximus rocketed him into the lead ahead of Dan Skelton, now 4/1 on William Hill having been as short as 9/4 going into the Aintree showpiece.

Harry Cobden has been booked for Stay Away Fay by Paul Nicholls, now the 8/1 outsider in the latest Trainers’ Championship odds market. 

Ballygrifincottage is the only chance for Dan Skelton, while Rachael Blackmore we’ll be on board Whacker Clan for Henry de Bromhead.
