Scottie Scheffler fans face an anxious wait to see if he will play at Valhalla.
Given that he’s expecting his first child with wife Meredith any day now, Scottie Scheffler’s participation in next week’s PGA Championship at Valhalla is far from certain.
The world number one was too strong for the field at the 2024 Masters, winning by four strokes from major debutant Ludvig Aberg in the first major of the year.
No one else got within seven of Scheffler, who claimed his second green jacket and a cool $3.6 million in prize money. The following week Scheffler landed the RBC Heritage, taking his 2024 PGA Tour prize money to $18,693,235 from just 10 events.
Remarkably, he has finished inside the top 10 in nine of those 10 events, with one runner-up at the Texas Children's Houston Open mixed with four wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Players Championship, Masters and RBC Heritage.
Those four wins and one runner-up make up his last five events, meaning he hasn’t finished outside the top two since the Genesis Invitational in mid-February.
