Next Sunderland Manager Odds: Will Still favourite to take over at Wearside

Long term target, Will Still is currently favourite to get the job with the Black Cats.

Tony Mowbray departed Wearside in December in what was a unpopular decision with Sunderland fans given that they sat just outside the play-off places at the time.

The Black Cats replaced him with former Rangers manager Michael Beale, who after just 12 games in charge suffered the same fate as his predecessor as his time at Sunderland came to a premature end.

Since Beale's sacking in February, the club are yet to bring in a permanant replacement, however, two names seem to be attracting a lot of interest at the top of the next Sunderland manager odds market.

Who is the favourite to be the next manager of Sunderland

It is no secret that Sunderland have been long term admiriers of former Reims coach Will Still.

Still became a well known figure in football after joining Ligue 1 side Reims as manager at just 30 years of age, despite not holding a EUFA Pro Licence.

The Black Cats reportedly attempted to make him Mowbray's replacement in December but couldn't come to an agreement.

But with the announcement that the young Englishman would depart Reims this week, it is looking increasingly likely that Sunderland could be his next destination.

He can be found at a best price of 3/1 on BetVictor to be the next Sunderland Manager.

However, Sunderland must fight off competition from Championship rival's Hull City who are also linked with Still. Click here to read more about Hull's pursuit of Still.

Ironically, the other name at the top of the odds market is the man Hull have just released, Liam Rosenior.

He knows the club well having played over 150 games for the Black Cats between 1987 and 1991 and his dismissal from Hull was considered somewhat harsh after a respectable 7th place finish in the Championship this year.

He is a best price of 4/1 at William Hill to get the gig at Sunderland.
