Next Hull City Manager Odds: Shock name favourite to replace Liam Rosenior

There is a surprise name at the head of the next Hull City manager market.

Three managers are separated by just a single betting point at the top of the next Hull manager odds market, as the Tigers hunt a successor for Liam Rosenior.

Rosenior, who was reportedly sacked over a difference of opinion on the team's style of football, only signed a new three-year contract in December 2023 to keep him at the club until 2026.

He leaves after just over 18 months in charge, having guided them to safety from a perilous looking position in November 2022 and mounted a playoff bid in 2023/24 which only failed after a 1-0 defeat at Plymouth on the final day.

Who is the favourite to be the next manager of Hull City?

The surprise favourite to replace Rosenior at the MKM Stadium is Steve Cooper (10/3 on William Hill), sacked as manager of Premier League Nottingham Forest in December 2023.

Cooper's appointment would be a surprise because he has been put forward for a number of Premier League positions since leaving the City Ground including the job at Selhurst Park when Roy Hodgson left Crystal Palace.

He was also heavily linked with the Birmingham job when Wayne Rooney was sacked after winning just two of his 15 matches in charge at St Andrew's.

The two other managers contesting favouritism for the vacant Hull City job are Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl (4/1) and William Still (9/2), who left Reims last week with immediate effect after the club's 11th-place finish in Ligue 1.

Still, favourite to take over at Sunderland, became famous for getting the Reims job aged 30, with the club fined €25,000 for every match he managed due to him not holding a UEFA Pro Licence.

Wednesday, who had taken just three points from 11 matches before Rohl arrived in October, finished the season with a six-game unbeaten run to secure survival on the final day of the Championship season.
