After Vinicius Jr's impressive display last night, punters are preferring the young Brazilian over team mate Jude Bellingham for the Ballon D'Or 2024.
Following Real Madrid’s dramatic injury-time victory over Bayern Munich, bookmakers have adjusted the odds for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
While Jude Bellingham remains the marginal favourite at 5/2 at bet365, it’s his teammate Vinicius Jr. who has seen a surge in support since the semi-final triumph.
A dazzling display from Vini Jr. in their win over Bayern Munich prompted bookies to shorten his odds from 5/1 to the 4/1 second-favourite.
In the time since the final whistle blew in Madrid, 41% of the bets on Oddschecker for Ballon d’Or have backed Vini Jr., compared to 34% for Jude Bellingham.
Prior to the semi-final last night, Vini Jr. had only picked up 11% of the bet share, behind both Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane.
Kane, previously the 4/1 second-favourite, has seen his odds drift to 6/1 (best odds bet365) and now occupies fourth place in the betting.
The summer’s international competitions may be the opportunity for Vini Jr. and Bellingham to separate themselves with England the 3/1 favourites for Euro 2024 and Brazil the 9/4 second favourites for Copa America.
