Next Man United Manager Odds: Thomas Tuchel tipped to replace Erik ten Hag

The former Chelsea manager has soared into favouritism to replace the beleaguered Dutchman.

Former Bayern Munich and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has seen a huge uptick in bets to become Man United’s next manager following their 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Since the defeat, over 60% of bets (up from 36% month before) have thrown their support behind Tuchel to succeed Erik ten Hag, whose tenure at United is seemingly reaching its conclusion.

Having been considered an outsider earlier in 2024, Tuchel has seen his odds slashed from 12/1 to the 5/2 favourite on Paddy Power since the start of March.

He leads the likes of Gareth Southgate (9/2), Graham Potter (6/1), and Roberto De Zerbi (11/1) as the most likely replacements for ten Hag, according to the oddsmakers.

Following the defeat last night, bookies slashed ten Hag’s odds to be sacked before the end of the season from 10/1 to 9/2 on Sky Bet.

Leon Blackman from oddschecker said: “Last night’s 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace appears to have sealed Erik ten Hag’s fate at Manchester United. Since the full-time whistle at Selhurst Park, we’ve witnessed a significant surge in bets for Thomas Tuchel to take over at Old Trafford.

“Over 60% of all bets on the next United manager have backed Tuchel for the role, compared to 36% of the bet share recorded in the previous month. He currently leads the likes of Gareth Southgate, Graham Potter, and Roberto De Zerbi as the frontrunner to replace ten Hag.”
